About Sky's & Cloud 9

We at Sky’s and the Cloud 9 Lounge aim to provide each and every one of our guests with a superb fine dining experience. Located on the second floor of the Edgewood Corporate Plaza at 322 Demers Avenue, you will enjoy an unforgettable view of beautiful Downtown Grand Forks!

Our menu defies classification by traditional genres, yet remains cohesive with something for everyone to enjoy. We serve hand-cut steaks, seafood, pastas, salads, soups, decadent desserts and more, along with our pub-style lounge menu of small plates, sandwiches, and lavosh. Chef’s specialties are created weekly – give us a call or sign up for our email list to stay in the know!

There’s a reason we were named the Most Romantic Restaurant in the state of North Dakota in 2018 by FoodAndWine.com – the lounge’s private sectional seating is perfect for date night (or smaller groups) on a first-come-first-served basis. Browse our extensive list of wines or try one of our award-winning specialty cocktails!

Sky’s does not observe a dress code. You’ll feel comfortable in either formal or upscale casual attire. Come as you are, and enjoy your stay!

Sky's had its start as Sanders 1907, located on South Third Street in Downtown Grand Forks. A sale from former owner Kim Holmes to our founder, John "Sky" Manske, fulfilled his lifelong dream of having his own fine dining establishment.

Pat Madigan – General Manager

With nearly 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Pat is a boss in more terms than just the man in charge. Having first moved to the Grand Cities in the 1980s for the military, Pat worked as a bartender for Kim Holmes at his former restaurant, Lola’s, from 1997 to 1999. He made his return to Grand Forks in 2014 to become the fearless leader of the Sky's crew.

Richie West – Lounge Manager

Richie is the bar alchemist — if you want a drink made right, come see him. His concoctions and spirits will have you sitting on Cloud 9. Richie started bartending at Sanders 1907 in 1991. His patience and persistence to make a drink right gives a calm atmosphere – perfect to sit back and relax belly-up.

Joe Hanson – Executive Chef

Joe knows how to move in the kitchen. On top of discovering exciting new flavors and combinations, he is able to make masterpieces with style. Joe developed his craft with the teaching of Chef Kim Holmes, former owner of Sanders 1907. He followed Kim for over 15 years before taking over as head chef. He is excited to make new creations with the touch of nostalgia.
